Maxi MiniMix can be more cost effective than trying to mix concrete yourself, especially for smaller domestic projects such as driveways. You save on the expense of hiring/buying mixing equipment as well as the cost of raw materials.

If you’ve never worked with concrete before, we also highly recommended that you don’t attempt to mix the concrete yourself as there is lots that can potentially go wrong.

Different mix specifications are used for different purposes, with higher grade strength for jobs such as flooring or external paving and lower grade strength for use with foundations. Concrete is measured in cubic meters – Length x Width x Depth (Height) = Metre Cubed (M3). You can use our Concrete Calculator in the ordering process onsite to quantify the amount you will need for your project before ordering.

For concrete floors and drives you should first dig out the area and remove any top soil. It is also important to build a solid sub-base before laying any concrete. This can be made up of materials such as recycled concrete or granular fill. Google & YouTube are great sources of information for your project.

Making sure your delivery reaches you on time is one of our biggest priorities here at Maxi MiniMix. In the rare chance that we may be delayed, we will let you know if we are running more than an hour late. All our mini mix trucks are specifically designed for domestic premises and will fit on the majority of domestic driveways safely.

However, if you have any concerns regarding the truck or access please drop us an email or call us and our drivers will risk assess the best position for our mixer to deliver your concrete in the best possible way.

The setting reaction takes place within the concrete mix as soon as the cement is mixed with the water. You have 1-2 hours once the concrete arrives to place and level it out. Higher grade strengths will dry quicker.

Yes. We always advise customers not to lay concrete when the temperature is under 5 degrees centigrade. This is because it takes longer to strengthen and set which can lead to cracks. We also advise that you take care when laying concrete in conditions that are particularly hot or windy, as this can cause the concrete to cure quicker than normal.

Please note that concrete must be cancelled a minimum of 24 hours prior to delivery. If a delivery is cancelled after this time then a charge of £9.00 + VAT per cubic meter is chargeable. Orders can be amended /cancelled right up until the point in which the concrete is actually batched.
